Covid19 : Nanobiose develops a SecretCells® set to speed up drug discovery

Nanobiose speed up drugs discovery

Emerging SARS-COV2 variants would challenge vaccination strategies implemented worldwide. More than ever, identifying effective treatments should be a priority; and drugs repositioning may be the best option to quickly find a way out of this crisis.

However, no one can easily predict the efficacity on Human of those drugs only from in vitro assays results, which do not faithfully mimic the biological reality.

Nanobiose has developed a new SecretCells® set to detect pro-inflammatory cytokines highly involved in the reaction to occur with SARS-COV2 virus, as IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, TNF and MCP-1. This new set can be used for in vitro studies on macrophages, pulmonary cells or more complex coculture models.

SecretCells® is a microfluidic lab-on-a-chip allowing efficacy and cytotoxicity assays. It combines perfused 3D cell culture capacities to better mimic in-vivo like conditions with the simultaneous capture and detection of biomarkers on a removable biosensor. SecretCells® biomarkers sets can be customizable on demand.
